How to use

Guide to the platform, analysis workflow, and scoring system.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the DPP

From the dashboard, start a new analysis by uploading a Digital Product Passport PDF and select the correct EU product group (e.g. batteries, textiles, smartphones).

  2. 2

    AI extraction and evaluation

The system extracts text from the PDF, identifies structured data, and compares content against the regulatory checklist for the selected profile (ESPR, JRC 2026, and sector regulations).

  3. 3

    Results and reports

Get per-section scores, gaps, and a PDF report export. Analyses remain visible on the dashboard.

For external integrations you can use the REST APIs documented on the API test.

Two score types

DPP readiness

Arithmetic mean across all 8 checklist sections. Measures overall preparedness against expected DPP obligations.

Binding compliance

Evaluates only requirements with maturity: binding already in force (e.g. Battery Passport, smartphone ecodesign). Draft profiles may have few or no binding requirements.

How the score is calculated

DPP readiness is the arithmetic mean of the 8 compliance sections. ESPR and JRC145830 do not define percentage weights across macro-areas: each section contributes equally.

# Section
1 Identificazione & Tracciabilità
2 Data Carrier & Accessibilità
3 Durabilità & Riparabilità
4 Riciclabilità & Circular Design
5 Impatto Ambientale
6 Sostanze Preoccupanti (SoC)
7 Documentazione di Supporto
8 Qualità Dati & Governance

Formula: Final score = (s₁ + s₂ + … + s₈) / 8

Relative importance of individual data points is modelled via JRC tiers (essential / strongly_recommended / voluntary) at requirement level, especially in the binding compliance score.

Product profiles

Each product category has a dedicated checklist in profiles/. Always choose the profile matching the product analysed: checklist and legal references vary by sector.

  • binding — legally mandatory requirements (e.g. batteries EU 2023/1542)
  • draft — JRC/ESPR expectations pending full delegated act
  • indicative — orientational analysis with high regulatory uncertainty
